Alive in the Spirit Endowment Fund

The Alive in the Spirit endowment fund will extend the ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church apart from its general operation. It is designated for outreach to others, religious education and non-recurring items that are not regularly budgeted.

We invite you to watch the following video presentation to learn more about the Alive in the Spirit endowment fund and how you can participate in it.

The Administrative Board is responsible for approving all expenditures from the Alive in the Spirit endowment fund. A sub-committee of the Administrative Board meets semi-annually in May and November to consider any possible recommendations.

Guidelines for such expenditures and a request form that church members may use to recommend endowment expenditures may be obtained from this list of documents in the left sidebar.

Endowment gifts to the church are what retirement funds are to an individual. The gifts are set aside for use in the future. This is a way to support Christian outreach in ways that may otherwise be impossible to achieve.

Endowment gifts are invested and later used, as directed by the Administrative Board, for thing other than day-to-day ministry and debt reduction.

The endowment fund of Shepherd of the Hills provides you with another opportunity to express your thankfulness for all the blessings that God has showered upon your family.

Gifts made to the endowment fund can, with God's blessing, build His kingdom through ministry at Shepherd of the Hills. The endowment fund also provides you an opportunity to engage in Christian stewardship beyond your time on this earth.

Consider a gift to the Alive in the Spirit endowment effort and you will be part of Shepherd of the Hills for many more years to come.

Charitable Giving Counselors

    Rick & Ruth Steinke
    (920) 246-1647

The Steinke's are active at Faith Lutheran in Green Bay, serving on many boards and committees. Ruth has been involved with two church building committees, alter guild, choir and chaired the first cookie walk at Faith.

Rick has served on the board of directors for the North Wisconsin District, and chairs the Board of Financial Services. At Faith Lutheran he is a member of the Stewardship Committee and serves as an usher.

They have a passion for Camp Luther, having served as co-chair for the Entrusted with Treasure capital campaign, raising funds for the recently completed retreat center.

Their love of the Lord and belief that God has placed a plan for giving in each person's heart has led the Steinke's to become Planned Giving Counselors.

They have attended many seminars and conferences to increase their knowledge of gift planning. Rick recently received certification as Development Executive (CDE) from the Concordia Center for Financial Leadership.

Rick & Ruth are members of the Shepherd of the Hills Charitable Giving team, and serve our church as Planning Giving Counselors.
