​Lavaun joined the staff of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (SHLC) in January 2008, bringing with her a diverse background in banking. Over the years, she held numerous positions at banks and credit unions throughout the Appleton area—beginning as a co-op student in a bookkeeping department, and progressing through roles such as mail room manager, teller, cash vault teller, head teller, and primary distance teller and receptionist. She later moved to the accounting department where she earned her ACH Professional accreditation and served as a debit card program administrator, before transitioning to her role here at SHLC.

Lavaun was born and raised in Appleton, WI and spent her summers at their family cottage on Kusel Lake, near Wild Rose, WI. Lavaun married her husband Philip in 2005, blending their families from previous marriages. They are proud parents and grandparents - Lavaun's daughter Vanessa and her family live in Michigan with their two sons, Colin and Desmond, and Philip’s daughter Amber lives in De Pere with her husband and their children, Amelia and Leon. They also remember Philip’s son, Sean, with love as he passed away in 2015.

Outside of work, Lavaun loves singing and has been involved in SHLC’s vocal music ministry since 1988. She was part of the original Praise team that introduced contemporary worship to our congregation. She also enjoys gardening, swimming, taking road trips—especially to the shores of Lake Superior—and spending cherished time with her adult children and grandchildren.
