Volunteer at Shepherd of the HillsWhether it is serving with our Children's Ministry, or greeting people at the entrances on Sunday mornings, serving here at Shepherd of the Hills is one of the best ways to get connected! Below is a list of a few of our volunteer opportunities, but the possibilities are far-reaching in terms of connecting your skills and abilities with our needs.
Welcome TeamGREETER
All members and visitors entering the church receive a warm smile, a firm handshake, and a cordial greeting. The goal of this area of ministry is to help people feel welcome in our church. Greeters are stationed at various entrances to offer smiles, handshakes, and to give directions or take you where you need to go. If you have a helpful heart and a smiling face, send Jackie Brzozowski and email letting her know that you are interested. USHER
The ushers do much more than hand out the bulletin, they help facilitate the worship service. Ushers assist with seating, receiving offerings, and distribution of the weekly bulletin. If you have a helpful heart and a smiling face, send Jackie Brzozowski and email letting her know that you are interested. COFFEE HOUR
Many gallons of coffee are consumed at SHLC on a typical Sunday Morning! Many of those enjoying our coffee and specialty drinks are both members and visitors. Helping with coffee service is a great way to meet others and chat with members and visitors at SHLC. By serving on the coffee team, you can be a hero to everyone with an empty cup and a growling stomach. Contact Jim Kavanagh to sign up! Worship ArtsCHOIR
Raise your voices high! All high school students through adults are welcome to join us in praising God. Our choir will sing at select services throughout the year and for all service types. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 7-8:30pm in the church Music Room. Please contact Nathan Johnson for more information. WORSHIP TEAM
Can you play an instrument? Like to sing? Join our worship leader and lead our congregation in song and praise. No matter what your instrument might be (your voice is an instrument also) there is a place for you to make a joyful noise. Hunter Chapin is waiting to hear from you. VIDEO OPERATOR
Every week we put together a unique experience drawing individuals closer to Christ. But our Video Operator will bring that experience to your home. Video Operating is open to high school students through adult. We meet Sunday mornings and serve 1-2 times per month. Each individual will receive training as needed. Contact Hunter Chapin if you are interested. SCREEN OPERATOR
Can you click a space bar on a keyboard and perform any other small computer tricks? The screen operator position is open to those who are High School Age through Adult. The screen operator operates all of the lyrics running in our Worship Center and on our Live-Stream. This person would operate computer and other video equipment approximately once a month. Each individual will receive training as needed. Contact Hunter Chapin if you are interested. LECTORS
Not afraid to read in public? Like to share scripture with anyone willing to listen? Get in touch with Pastor Steve Kline for more info on serving as a Lector for our 8 A.M. traditional service. WORSHIP ASSISTANTS
Worship Assistants can be found assisting the pastors within the service by lighting the candles or overseeing the assign acolyte, assisting with the distribution of communion, collecting offerings, and making sure the doors are locked (if serving during the last service of the day). If you are interested in serving as a Worship Assistant, please contact Tom Kautz, and he will get you connected. ALTAR CARE
Do you have an interest in preparing things? Our volunteers Altar Care team takes care of preparing the communion trays on communion weekends, and cleaning communion supplies after the service. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Tom Kautz and he will get you connected. EducationSMALL GROUP HOST
Host a small group Bible study at your house, at a coffee shop, at IHOP, anywhere. Just pull together a few of your best friend. Read the questions and talk about them. Something powerful happens when a few of God’s people discuss God’s word together. Contact Pastor Chad if interested. CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
Students enjoy Bible stories through many different resources including; Large Group, Games, Music, Crafts, Small Group Time, Puppets, and much more! Students join together for Large Group at the beginning of the Sunday School hour to watch and interact with the lesson for the day. We wouldn't be able to do any of these activities without out volunteers! If you are interested in helping with Children's Ministry, please contact Jessica Tibben today! YOUTH PROGRAMS
We have several opportunities to mentor youth from 5th grade all the way through High School. For more information on how you can volunteer in these programs please contact Jessica Tibben. |
